Historical Blank Notecards (5-pack)

$3.00

This is the first in a series of cards we will be printing over the next several years on historic Buffalo County buildings. In 1888, this Buffalo County Courthouse was built by H. Roettiger & Co., of Fountain City, at a cost of $17,600. With brick walls thirty inches thick at the first floor, decorative exterior stone band, marble floors, fireplaces in the offices and a large second floor courtroom, the courthouse was the pride of Buffalo county. This beautiful building was replaced by the present courthouse in 1962. The illustration shown is found on souvenir glassware made between 1890-1900. BCHS has examples in ruby red, custard, milk glass and even a brown pottery piece with this drawing on each of them.
